Thanks for evaluating this product from Word in the Hand™ Inc. and Paiboon Publishing!
Here's How the Evaluation Works
From this page, you're
going to download one file to your desktop (PC/Macintosh) computer:
our Thai-English English-Thai Dictionary for Palm OS® PDAs. The
download is completely free. Then, we'll show you
how to install that file on your PDA using the standard Palm Desktop
software that comes with all Palm OS® PDAs.
Once the dictionary is installed on your PDA, and you've had a chance
to read and accept our End-User License Agreement (EULA), you will be
able to see the buttons, menus, crisp fonts, and general operation of
our dictionary. While in evaluation mode, the dictionary displays 150
words (50 per section).
When you're ready to unlock the full 21,000 words, return to this
website and purchase the dictionary. Purchasing gives you the right
to unlock the full dictionary for one user (yourself) on one Palm
OS® PDA. We'll give you a registration code which you enter
directly into your PDA to unlock the full dictionary. You don't even
have to download or transfer another file to your PDA!
We encourage you to beam the dictionary to all your
friends both before and after you purchase it. You can find
instructions here. When you beam
the (registered or unregistered) dictionary onto another PDA, the new
copy on the other PDA will start in evaluation mode so that your
friend may consider a purchase as well.
Step 1: Download file to your desktop (PC, Macintosh) Computer
Click "Begin Download" below to begin the download of the dictionary.
You will be downloading a Palm OS® application file named
thaidict.prc. You'll only need the file on your
desktop computer for a few minutes.
On most computers, when you click on this button, a window will pop up
and offer you the choice to "Save" or "Open." You want to
save the file to disk. Here's what that window looks like on
several different kinds of computer:

A "Save As" window will pop up. Save thaidict.prc in a convenient
place like your desktop. In Windows XP, you can choose to save on
your desktop by clicking "Desktop" then "Save:"

On other versions of Windows and on the Macintosh, you can choose the
desktop from a drop-down menu at the top of the "Save As" window.
On a few types of computers (Mac with Safari, Mac with Netscape), you
won't ever see a window offering you to "Open" or "Save." Instead,
when you click "Begin Download" above, a "Downloads" or "Download
Manager" window will pop up. It won't have any buttons and you don't
have to click anything. The file thaidict.prc has automatically been
downloaded and you can find it on your desktop. Here's what the
"Download" window looks like on one type of computer:

Step 2: Launch "Palm Desktop" Software and Install thaidict.prc on Your PDA
Now that you've got the file thaidict.prc on your desktop computer,
you want to install thaidict.prc on your PDA:
- On your desktop computer, launch the "Palm Desktop" software that
came with your PDA. This is the same software you use to synchronize
your appointments, calendar, contacts, etc. and perform a back-up of
your PDA to your computer. Consult the manuals that came with your
PDA software for more details.
- In "Palm Desktop," click the button labeled "Install" or "Quick
Install."

A separate window will pop up. In this window, you choose files which
will be installed on your Palm OS® PDA the next time you perform a
HotSync operation.
- In the "Install" or "Quick Install" window, click "Add" to add a
file.

Your system will pop up an "Open" window so you can choose a file to
install. The file you want to install (thaidict.prc) is on your
desktop, so first you need to navigate to your desktop. Do this by
clicking on the drop-down menu at the top of the "Open" window and
selecting Desktop:

Now you should see the file thaidict.prc. Click on the file and "Open:"

The "Install" or "Quick Install" window should now list thaidict.prc
as a file which will be installed on your handheld:

- If your "Install" window has an OK button, click OK. The
application may remind you that these files will be installed next
time you perform a HotSync operation.
Step 3: Perform a HotSync Operation
Now you're ready to transfer thaidict.prc to your PDA!
Connect your PDA to your desktop computer (if it is not already
connected) and press the HotSync button on your PDA's cradle (if your
PDA's cradle does not have a HotSync button, consult your PDA's manual
to find out how to perform a HotSync operation).
You're Done! Try out the Dictionary!
You can find the dictionary in the
Application Launcher. It shows up as "Thai Dict." Depending on how
many applications you have installed on your Palm, you may need to
scroll down to see it.
The first time you run it, the dictionary will present you with the
End-User License Agreement. Read it, and if you agree to the terms,
click "I Accept."
Each time you run it, the dictionary will launch in Evalaution Mode
and will present a window explaining this. Click "Evaluate" to
evaluate the product.
